The objective of this program is to prepare the student for employment as an entry level Computer Programmer, Software Developer and Web Developer with the knowledge and skills needed to create, modify and test the code, forms and script for computer applications and web pages to run.
Students receive instruction from experienced computer experts in each Computer Technology course at Vatterott College. The Computer Technology program provides courses in Windows, computer user support, software support, peripheral repair, operating system configuration and local area networks (LANs). Students will gain experience with & Windows XP, Windows 7 and command line interfaces. Course work includes installation and configuration, directory structures, hardware fundamentals, device configurations, computer problem solving, application installation and security, troubleshooting, hardware repair and upgrades, printing, administration, file sharing, basic protocols, and much more.
The Diploma in Information Systems Security provides network security training in Security Essentials, network essentials, computer forensics, cyber security, disaster planning, and ethical hacking. Classes cover basic security network training, fundamentals of systems security management, computer forensics techniques and tools, cybercrime and laws, disaster recovery plans, ethical hacking to discover network vulnerabilities and much more. Students receive hands-on network security training through labs and technical instruction.
Students receive instruction from industry experienced experts in each Computer Systems and Networking Courses. The Associates of Occupational Studies in Computer Systems and Network Technology provides courses in English Composition and Algebra prior to completing additional network training such as hardware fundamentals, operating systems, troubleshooting, and Windows networking through Cisco routing and switching.
Students receive instruction from experienced IT experts at Vatterott Colleges in St. Louis. The Associates of Occupational Studies degree in Web Design & Multimedia Development provides instruction on integrated software applications, programming concepts and language, database management, and networking fundamentals. Additionally, web development courses cover web and application development, file systems and databases, SQL, networking standards and protocols, Linux, VB Net, ASP, HTML and much more.
