St Jospeh Student Letter

Announcement of Campus Closure and Teach-Out

October 5, 2017

Dear Student:

After considerable discussion and deliberation, the difficult decision has been made to cease enrolling in all programs at Vatterott College-St. Joseph, and to close the campus after current students have had the opportunity to graduate. The purpose of this letter is to provide you with additional information and clarity regarding the anticipated timing and nature of this transition. Please note, all plans relating to the closure of the College are subject to review by and final approval from the Missouri Department of Higher Education, the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges, and other regulators.

The College’s last term will be completed in December 2017, allowing all current students the opportunity to graduate within the normal time-frame for their program.

  1. Should a student fail a course, the College will not repeat the course. If the course the student failed is already scheduled to be offered again prior to the discontinuation of the program, the student may have an opportunity to repeat the course.

  2. The College will no longer enroll students, whether they be new students or returning students. As a consequence, if current students withdraw from their program, they will not be able to re-enroll at the College. The College also will no longer approve requests for leaves of absence.

  3. Prior to the College’s closure, the College will continue to provide student services to students and graduates, all in accordance with the terms of the College’s Enrollment Agreement and the policies set forth in the Campus Catalog. Additional information regarding services available to graduates after the College’s closure will be provided in the coming months.

  4. Subsequent to the College’s closure, all student records will be transferred to a location in St. Louis, Missouri, near the College’s administrative headquarters. Individuals making records requests (e.g., a transcript request) following the Colleges’ closure should contact the College’s administrative headquarters at (314) 264-1500.

As appropriate, we will provide additional information and updates relating to the closure of the College. In the interim, if you have any questions regarding the subjects covered in this letter, please do not hesitate to contact Danielle Toner, Corporate Administrator of Student Affairs, by email at, or by phone at (314) 264-1500.

Kind regards,

Paul Ferrise
